Hptm. Johannes Fhr. von Richthofen

On 26th July 1941 Hptm. Johannes Fhr. von Richthofen of II./ZG26 was shot down by Russian ground fire with his (Bf) Uffz. Hermann Strehl and both were killed in their Me 110 E-2 aircraft. One reference (Balss) state the crash place to be "Western entrace of Boruline", Ilmensee (lake Peipus). Estonia or Russia? Another reference (Kracker) state "a wood near Velikije Luki", Pskovskaja, Russia. What is correct?

YES, he is a relative of famous "Red Baron" of World War I.

Thanks for any help

This is what DeZeng and Stankey say about him:
RICHTHOFEN, Johannes Georg Ernst, Freiherr von. (DOB: 28.06.13 in Kuhnern /Schl.). 05.41 Staka
5./ZG 26. 1940 Oblt., appt Staka 2./Zerstörerschule 1 (to 16.04.40). 17.04.40 Oblt., appt Staka
3./Zerstörerschule 1 (to 25.06.40). 09.09.40 Oblt., appt Staka 6./ZG 26. 26.07.41 Hptm. and Staka
6./ZG 26, KIA – in Bf 110 E-2 (3U+AP) shot down vic Borulina in theVelikiye Luki - Lake Ilmen
area. Buried in Borulina. Was a cousin of the “Red Baron”.

It seems that both sources refer to the same area...

It works. Poddor district. "The district is located in the south-west of the Novgorod region and borders on four of its regions: Volotovsky and Starorussky - in the north and northeast, Marevsky - in the east and Kholmsky district in the south. In the west it borders with Dedovichi (in the north-west) and Bezhanitsky (in the south-west) districts of the Pskov region ."
