Rolf Rossberg,German Cross in Gold Holder

Rolf Rossberg had spend his WWII career with KG-51 bomber unit until Germany's surrender in 1945. He was awarded the German Cross in Gold in 1942. How many bomber sorties in total that Rossberg flew during WWII? Was he ever recommended for the Knight's Cross?

I cannot help but here you can see(right) Oblt.Rolf Rossberg 8./KG51. I beleave this is on Tazinskaja airfield September 1943. The other officer is Oblt.Bräck.

Anyone has information about Rolf Rossberg's service in the Luftwaffe? He made many sorties over the Eastern Front. Was Rolf Rossberg in the Bundewehr Luftwaffe after WWII?
