Belgium Meteor Collision 15 Dec 1953
On 15 Dec 1953 Belgium Meteors EG-231 and EG-232 of 349 Sqn collided at Rêves/Frasnes-les-Gosselies
https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/48016 and https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/48029 The pilots involved were Onderluitenant Marc Desender who ejected and survived and Sgt. Mathieu Penders who died I assume Desender was flying EG-231 and Penders EG-232 but can anyone supply confirmation and maybe full names and service numbers if possible? Thanks Paul |
Re: Belgium Meteor Collision 15 Dec 1953
Paul,
Indeed, Desender in EG-231 and Penders in EG-232. See e.g. http://www.sergebonfond.be/index.php...wing-1950-1955 and better still http://ailes-militaires-belges.be/in...&limitstart=20 Also see https://www.hangarflying.eu/erfgoeds...thieu-penders/ No real tradition here to cite full (baptism or otherwise) names. Paul,
More Dutch Meteor collisions here: https://www.ipms.nl/artikelen/nedmil...gloster-meteor Look for 'botsing' (= collision). One near by my present hometown was on 9 July 1957 between I-202 and I-223... Regards, Leendert |
