Interesting scheme for a Bf 109G-14AS

Hi chaps, I am converting a 1:72 model of a Bf 109G-10 into a G-14 AS and I am looking for something other than a 74/75/76 scheme.

I have found a scheme in the Prien/Rodike F,G,K book; JG300 Yellow 5. This looks to have an all over dark scheme which could be RLM 70, 82 or even black. The wheel well doors look light coloured; 76 or 84?. The cowling looks dark with a darker upper colour which could be the 70, 82, black! All in all quite confusing and very intruiging!

If anyone knows any other schemes I'd be very grateful.

Do you mean this photo?
http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de/pi...030-swfoto.jpg

As far as I know that is a G-10 model and the rear fuselage is painted all-over brown 81. Nose is 75/82 with 76. Or that's how it's usually portrayed...

PS. What happened to the JG 300 website?

PPS. Have a look at http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de for some more paintscheme ideas. Great collection of 109 photos. Here's another odd G-10: http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de/pi...024-swfoto.jpg. The G-14/AS gallery isn't too big, unfortunately.

..in the absence of Eagle's JG 300 Vol II, the best and latest coverage given to this machine is the JAPO 'JG 52 Deutsch Brod' book - G-10, overall 83 and/or possible partial 81 coverage -

.. it was full of dubious assertions and doubtful info, little of which stood up to the 'latest' research, so the web-master did the sensible thing I suspect..

Hi Neil, Haggis and Skyraider3D

About the JG300 website: no, the webmaster didn’t the sensible thing. In fact, he’s building another website, with a new URL, and is filling it with exactly the same content and blatant errors as in his previous site. As if nothing had been recently published about JG 300... I’ll stop with this theme, since I don’t want to give this site more importance than it deserves.

About the dark camouflaged “Yellow 5”, I don’t think it is the one mentioned by Skyraider3D. I believe Neil is right, and this aircraft may also be seen in the French version of JG 300 volume 2, pages 180 and 181 with a profile by Claes Sundin. I discussed the matter with both artists (Claes Sundin for the French edition and Tom Tullis for the American edition), and my opinion is that this Erla-built G-10 was painted in the new RLM 81/82 scheme, with minimal RLM 76 and unpainted under surfaces of the wings.
