Rettung zwischen den Fronten. Seenotdienst der deutschen Luftwaffe 1939 - 1945

Hi guys,

Does anybody own a copy of Karl Born's book "Rettung zwischen den Fronten: Seenotdienst der deutschen Luftwaffe 1939 - 1945"? I'm after some pics of just a couple of pages (pp. 98-99 and p. 155) about a rescue off Ösel island in September 1941.

Thanks in advance.
Jason

Hi Jason,

Here you go. Please let me know if these aren't adequate for your purposes.

I'm a very appreciative owner of your many fine books on Stalingrad, so it's a pleasure to be able to help out.

Best regards,
Leon Venter

Excellent, thanks very much Leon. Precisely what I was after. And thanks also for the kind words about my books.
All the best,
Jason Mark

Jason, I may be able to help a bit further - there is a reasonably good book by a Russian author, Buldygin, about the battle for the Baltic islands in 1941. I will look in it and see if this incident is mentioned. Is the best way to contact you the general leapinghorseman.com e-mail, or some other address? My own e-mail address can be seen by clicking the link in my signature.

Let me add my voice to the chorus praising your work!

Regards,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the offer of help; I'll gladly accept your kind offer. Best contact address is leapinghorseman@gmail.com

Apart from the sea rescue, does Buldygin's book mention the failed German glider assault on the Kübassaare battery on the morning of 14 September? A couple of German survivors from that failed assault were the ones rescued by the sea plane.

Many thanks
Jason Mark
