Castel Benito. 03.43 Oblt., in Versuchskdo. für Panzerbekampfung. 01.03.43 promo to Hptm. (Kr.O./Flg.). 18.03.43 Oblt., POW - Ju 87 G-1 (DJ+FT) shot down vic Bryansk. 09.43 while POW, was a founding member of 'Bund deutscher Offiziere', doing propaganda for the Soviets. Early 1952 joined the East German Air Force. Late 1952 Obstlt., appt Kdt.of the central supply depot of 'Volkspolizei-Luft' at Görlitz. 1954 Oberforstmeister , appt forestry officialchief of hunting administration in the (East German) Berlin region (to 1969). †1986. Buried in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde, Zentralfriedhof. Son of Prussian Gen.Maj. Hans Trenkmann.
