Combat Claims

Combat lists and names

Is there any archive/list same as Tonywood`s list, which could give us the fighter pilot´s? name, who shot down the German pilot Eberhard Heiser on 27th April 1945, Brenner pass area? Heiser was piloting propbably a Me-109.

Thank you for each respose.

As far as we have found there were no claims made on 27th April by the air forces based in Italy. To me a prime candidate is on 26th April
66th FS/57th FG 2/Lt Roland E.Lee P-47D Bf 109 F7852 1310

Hello,

The P-47s from 526th FS, 86th FG, based at Tantonville, France, operated against targets in southern Germany.

On 27 April, they claimed two enemy aircraft (I neither have the type nor the place). These were claimed by 1st Lt Roy W. Brown Jr. and 1st Lt Paul Moody.

Best wishes/Håkan

Further to Håkan's statement, Frank Olynyk lists these claims between 15.13 - 15.15H at a place called Y-2646, which I have no idea where that was.
Both aircraft are listed as Fw 190.

Furthermore, four Fw 190 are listed as claimed damaged, one each by Brown, Lt Camp, 1/Lt Theodore E. Delo and F.O. Virgil R. Thornton.

Cheers
Stig

Dear Contributors,
many thx for your replies which I hardly had expected.
Now I am able to work with your info and look for witnesses and debris.
It will take a while until I will have a useful overview about the days 26 and 27 Apr. 1945.
The last days of war have been quite disastrous for all the Luftwaffe organisation.
Eberhard Heiser was from Frankfurt but found his grave in Steinach am Brenner.

If the reference is to the Nord de Guerre grid, then wY2646 is 5 or 6 km NW of Landsberg-am-Lech in Bavaria. Nowhere near the Brenner Pass., however.

On the North Italy Grid, rY2646 is 63 km north of Klagenfurt (and 200 km east of Steinach.

Re: Combat Claims

Hello there,
im new at this forum, well i found this page by pure coincidence. I searched almost 3 years ago about information which contains the pilot Eberhard Heiser. After a lot of failed research, i decided to check the internet after 3 years again if there is maybe something new, i typed the name in and i couldn't believe my eyes, theres someone out which is also searching for information. Iwould be very happy to share information together. How did you get the pilot?

Greetings
Franz
