Did he survive WWII? What was his career after WWII?

Hello Edward,

from 1972 to 1984 Jakob Schaus was the president of the former Federal Railways Head Office Frankfurt am Main / Präsident der ehemaligen Bundesbahndirektion Frankfurt am Main. At that time I was an employee of this authority, he was my supreme superior. I have seen him twice, in 1972 on a company outing and in 1980 at a farewell ceremony for the head chief of my department. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of his further career.

Regards
Leo

Interesting Leo. Do you -or other members of this forum- know if Schaus' Flugbuch/Leistungsbuch survived post-war? These would fill in a number of gaps that I have of his operational career in the Nachtjagd.

Cheers, Theo

I take it that Jakob Schaus, who was a German Cross in Gold winner, worked with the Federal German Railways in uniform after WWII,going aboard trains, had to climb the promotion ladder to get to the top.
