Unknown bomber crash

Does somebody has more information about a crash of a German bomber at Maasmechelen-Opgrimbie (Belgium). I have only little information on some of it's crewmembers. It is believed it crashed on 01-01-1945. A Ju-88 Lotse? Date can be wrong. Thanks!

(Josef) Stadtmann Erkennungsmarke 1970 (Unteroffizier) 2.A/FLG.AUSB.REGT.31

Hubertus Richter Erkennungsmarke 1290 (Obergefreiter)

Re: Unknown bomber crash

In my (very incomplete) notes I have found two Fw 190 in that area on that date:
One piloted by Fw Richard Heinz of 7./SG4 and one by Fw Rudolf Fye of 9./SG4.

Furthermore I have a Ogfr Herbert Richter in a Do 17 of 2.(F)/123 down near Fosse-la-Ville Mai 12th 1940.

Nothing on Stadtmann.

Re: Unknown bomber crash

Hi,

In a rather old note (info received before 2000) is mentioned that J.Wieseler died at Opgrimbie and is buried as unknown at the German War Cemetery at Lommel. It is possible that he was the Bordfunker of Ju88G-1 w/nr. 714393 of 5./NJG3 which went missing during the night of 26-27/12/1944. The pilot (Jakob Granderath – buried as unknown at Lommel) and the two other crewmembers (Hans Ziegler – buried as unknown at Lommel - and Emil Piontek) are also still missing.

No info found regarding Stadmann and Richter.

Best regards

Luc

Thanks for the replies. Is it possible that Stadtmann and Richter were no airmen? What does 2.A/FLG.AUSB.REGT.31 mean?

Re: Unknown bomber crash

The Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 31 was a ground unit. From Lexikon-der-Wehrmacht:
Die Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regimenter waren die erste Station eines Soldaten, der in der Luftwaffe war.

Hier wurden betrieben:
Im Ausbildungs-Bataillon des Regiments:
- Grundausbildung bzw. infanteristische-Gundausbildung
- Sichtung der Soldaten für die weitere Verwendung
- Sicherungsaufgaben am Standort

http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...Ausbildung.htm

I'm not an expert on these type of units but I think the 2.A means the II Abteilung.
from axishistory.com:
Most Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regimenter were formed from the old Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilungen on 1.4.39 (becoming Stab and I. Abt. of the new unit). The commander of the new Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment, and was at the same time, commander of the I. Ausbildungs-Abteilung.
The Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment was each to have 3 Abteilungen:
I. Abt from the old Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung (1. - 5. kp.)
II. Abt. new (6. - 10. kp.)
III. Abt. was the Flugzeugführerschule A/B that was attached (Schule)
