Ofw. Adolf Bäumer/Oblt. Adolf Bäumer - The Same Man?
 

I recently purchased the Ehrenpokal awarded to Ofw. Adolf Bäumer dated 07-05-42 while serving with 1./Kampfgeschwader 3.

Without (as yet) a detailed unit history published on Kampfgeschwader 3, the research element is limited at best however......

In the Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries there is an Oberleutnant Adolf Bäumer listed as KIA on 29-09-43 while serving with 13./Kampfgeschwader 3 however, there is no information prior to 01-8-42.

Is is possible that these 2 are indeed the same man? I am not aware that Bäumer is a common surname, nothwithsatanding the same christian name and same Kampfgeschwader.....or is is wishful thinking on my behalf?

Any help whatsoever will be very gratefully received.
