Gruppe,

I wonder how this book relates to the "Dornier 335 Arrow" book published by Monogram Publications and written by Smith, Creek and Hitchcock?

Hi Huib!

The book has nothing to do with the old Monogram book!

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the pointer. Sounds like an exciting book!

One for my wish-list.

Simon:

For some reason the link will not work for me.

But I do find it interesting that the book is "unavailable" from Anazon in the US.

But the specs look very similar to the Monogram book

Steven!

The link only works if you have an account at the LEMB.

The book is "unavailable", because it's not published yet.

Cheers, Simon

In 1983, Mongram published no. 21 in their Close Up series: "Dornier 335". This was by Richard Smith and Eddie Creek and was a 32-page softback. Several years later, after these two authors had stopped writing for Monogram, Thomas Hitchcock put together the hardback you refer to and (IIRC) credited the authors as himself, Smith and Creek although those two had made no further input. Presumably some of the 1983 material was reused in this later publication.

So while the specs might appear superficially similar, there is the crucial difference in authorship.

Forgot about the need to log in.

Most informative especially the quote from Eddie Creek.

As to the issue of unavailable = not released, AMAZON often takes pre order as it did for the Merrick Luftwaffe Camou and the 2nd Tactical Air Force series.

Either there is a "legal issue", or Amazon US doesn't plan to offer this book.
