1) The digit 5 was the aircraft's code number painted on the side and it was in black (schwartz in German). The aircraft came down at Ostryjki. Since the German's (and probably everyone else) had great difficulty in knowing where all these remote places were, the Luftwaffe split the maps they used into small square areas which they called planquadrat (shortform usually PlQu, PlQ or PQ)

2) You can find some details in Prien's et al's Jagdfliegerverbände, but without looking it up, you may only encounter the loss details as given by Matti. Possibly you will find more details in the French Vol 2 of JG 54 (I belive not yet published by Lela Presse)
If "your man" is mentioned in the two volume history of JG 300, I cannot say straight away. However JG 300 was primarily a home defence unit.

Cheers
Stig

Gentlemen:

Does Ogfr Peschke, Manfred later flew with JG300, and what was his final fate? Does he survived the war?

Hi,

A friend of mine has got his last Flugbuch.

The last flight occured on 25 April 1945.

An officer closed the logbook the day after on 26 April 1945.

The aircraft was a Bf 109 "<4" ...

No information about his surrender to the Allied armies.

He flown several missions with ZG 76, JG 76, for a while, during the Summer of 1944 (but when exactly ?). Airdromes at the time : Gharo, Stornede.
Then, on 08.10.1944, he joined Reisndorf. So very probably : IV/JG 300.

Did he remain in this Staffel ?

Please do you have a photo of hat pilot ?

Philippe
