Rare Ju87 colour footage 1940 - Hans Bauer home movie
Home movie shot by Hitler's personal pilot Hans Bauer circa Summer 1940.
A keen cine-film enthusiast, Bauer shot many films and his close association with Hitler allowed him unprecedented access to the Nazi inner circle. This footage believed to have been taken at a captured French airfield in the Summer of 1940. Scenes show ground crew towing bombs to the aircraft and a staffel take off and fly By. The aircraft are shot filmed from afar but I hope will be of interest. Does anyone recognise the airfield? Bauer shot this footage ahead of Hitler visiting the airfield with Von Rundstedt and Keitel who are seen toward the end of the footage beside a Ju52. Footage begins at 10:14:46 and runs to the end. The bottom thumbnail can be expanded to full frame. At the end of the film is a group shot which features Flugkapitan Bauer lighting a cigarette at 10:21:25 http://www.archiv-akh.de/filme?utf-8=✓&q=Hans+Bauer#25 |
