Any Ideas as to Do 17
No idea of the unit but the code is +KN. Nothing immediately matches apart from 5./KG 3, 4 Oct 40 which crash-landed at Zuidlangerweg south of Colijnsplaat on a non-combat mission. Clint M has no matches so any thoughts?

Re: Any Ideas as to Do 17
Colijnsplaat is at North Beveland in Seeland in the Netherlands.
There was no railway at North Beveland at that time. Nor there is now. So you can skip that possibility. Jaap |

Hi Robert,
Can you describe the emblem? Best, Ed |
Re: Any Ideas as to Do 17
Thanks. I have all the NVM and there are no obvious matches so I assume no injuries

Re: Any Ideas as to Do 17
Chris,
I have the following for Oct 4th 1940: Mason - Pg. 350 5./KG 3 - Dornier Do 17Z-2 (3343:5K+KN) - Non-Combat Mission - Shot down by German fighters off the Dutch coast, and crashed on land. 80% damage. Three crew members wounded. Ramsey/Cornwell - Pg. 674 5/KG3 - Dornier Do 17Z-2 (3343) - Attacked by own fighters during domestic flight over the Dutch coast and crash-landed with three NCOs wounded. Aircraft 5K+KN a write-off. |
Re: Any Ideas as to Do 17
Hi Ed,
it was the emblem that was later ued by 8./KG76 because old 5./KG76 became new 8./KG76. Regards Robert |
