Photo Gourdou-Leseurre GL.432?
Hello,
Could someone please advise if the aircraft shown at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Q503-Foto-We...oAAOSwNKRehju4 is a Gourdou-Leseurre GL.432? I mean specifically BA 22. Thanks for any assistance. Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Gourdou-Leseurre GL.432?
Correct Clint
The other two aircraft visible are Morane 230. Since they are coded BA I dont understand what they are doing in Brest since that code belonged to Béarn, but if Lucien spots this, he will of course give both chapter and verse Cheers Stig |
Re: Photo Gourdou-Leseurre GL.432?
Hi Stig,
Thanks. I assumed the code was for the Béarn. I know the seller captioned the photos as Brest and I certainly can't say that is incorrect as I've no idea, but might he have wrongly thought it was Briest because of the BA codes? Where was the home port of the Béarn btw? Guess I should look that up. Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Gourdou-Leseurre GL.432?
Hi Clint,
Early in september 1939 a/c of Bearn sent to other units and posted to earth unit (# sea) These ex A/C of Bearn posted to "Cours de Perfectionnement" at the BAN of Lanveov-Poulmic ; in june 40 these a/c have been abandonned at Lanveoc. Bertrand |

Hi Clint
Yes Bertrand is correct, the aircraft from Béarn were shore based in late 1939. Not sure that all of them went to Lanvéoc though. From Lucien's books, it seems the GL.432 'BA22' was No 1. The Cours de perfectionnement only had one.... Cheers Stig |
