Re: Photo album
Nice catch Ed
But what an odd album, with sort of dips into one individual's contact with aviation. Pre world war 1, gliding in the mid to late 1920s and after that seemingly nothing, even if what seems a connection in WW 2 with fuel could be aviation related. Anyone who knows what we are looking at? I will tip pf a friend to see if he knows something. Cheers Stig |
Re: Photo album
I got a reply from my friend Kees Kort
The 1912-13 photos of the Grade look-a-like aircraft were built by the Westdeutsche Piloten-Schule who started their business at Holton in 1912 They are known to have built at least two aircraft and after moving to Krefeld in 1913 ceased when WW 1 started. Obvious perhaps when you see the hangar in the background and read the photo texts (even the aircraft is labeled on the fin WPS) I have never heard of the company/school, so very interesting to me.
