the surviving F4F-3 wildcats of VMF-221

Good Evening
Another battle of Midway question:
what happened to the surviving USMC Grumman F4F-3 Wildcats of VMF-221 after the battle of Midway, when known what happened to the surviving Brewster Buffaloes they were sent back to the USA to the training command.
But what happened to the surviving Wildcats were they also sent back to the USA? for training as well or issued to other USMC fighter squadrons ?
here are the USN/USMC Bu No.4008,4000,3997,2532 and 1864.

Any leads or information will be helpful.
thanks and stay safe
Santiago

There's a problem with No. 3997. Could it have been lost at Attu in 1943?

From Nassau's Action Report it seems that this VMO155 F4F-3P crashed on landing off Attu on 11May43 and was jettisoned.

The mystery now is what happened to 4008
