He 111 "PK + AR" - 1940
Hello,
looking for any information about this aircraft and the crew. Crashlanded in a field close to Seifersbach, near Mittweida/Saxony, Germany. Probably crashed 4.6.1940, not sure. Thanks Uwe Benkel Historical Research |

I do not have any info regarding this accident - Unit - crew but the aircraft was sent to Reparatur Werk Erfurt on 09.07.40 as under repair. Then I have this at FFS(C)22 from 12.04.41

Re: He 111 "PK + AR" - 1940
According to the forum www.geschichtsspuren.de the photos show the He 111 V9 Werk-Nr. 1807, the former He 111 B D-AIZU. Later converted to a training plane, coded PK+AR. This plane was destroyed on 20 May 1942 (FFS (C) 22 Oels, engine failure, crash at Hellerau near Dresden, 3 men dead).

Did this also have registration D-AQOX at some point?

Hello and thanks for your posts.
Is there a chance to find out who was the crew and what happened to them? Best wishes Uwe |
Re: He 111 "PK + AR" - 1940
Somehow the belly landing does not seem to square with 3 individuals being killed, but perhaps they just had bad luck....

Re: He 111 "PK + AR" - 1940
The loss on 20.05.42, is 95 % "big", so not what shows the picture here, further the plane was a P model, nd Wn changed to 1707 ...no STKZ given,

the original code of the He 111 B Werknummer 1807 was D-AQOX. After the modification to a full-view cockpit the plane was renamed He 111 V9 and coded D-AIZU. Re: He 111 "PK + AR" - 1940
Thanks Guys
Now hang on a moment please I follow that WNr 1807 was a B model registred D-AQOX, rebuilt as a P-model (perhaps the prototype?) the V9 and received a new civil registration D-AIZU However if Rémi is correct and PK+AR was 95% destroyed and not WNr 1807 but 1707 then I want to know where the connection between D-AIZU and PK+AR is. The aircraft in the photos is certainly nowhere near 95% destroyed. It is a quite reasonable belly landing and I don't think we even see 50% damage here. Did PK+AR have two crashes? One seen here and one terminal in 1942? Or is PK+AR WNr 1707 and not at all connected to V9? Cheers Stig |
