Photo Bulgarian Aircraft
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Bulgrian operated Farman at: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bulgarian...oAAOSwAfVdtMg0 Any help with the correct name of the variant shown would be appreciated. I suspect it may be a Russian built Farman VII, but I'm uncertain. Here is a photo of the same type erroneously captioned M.F.7 - which it isn't at: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F...rman_M.F.7.jpg Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Bulgarian Aircraft
Hello Clint
Could also be the only Sommer R3 operated by the Swiss pilot Burri during the first Balkan war The same photo appears here, after 2 minutes and 10 seconds : http://www.pionnair-ge.com/spip1/vid...ri-Qtp-370.mov Regards Jean |
Re: Photo Bulgarian Aircraft
Hello Jean,
Looks like you have it right. I became over fixated on Farmans. The video didn't work for me. But given the designation you provided I was able to find the site its from and play the video there.: http://www.pionnair-ge.com/spip1/spi...id_article=370 Also to view the photo in the top right corner. Thanks. Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Bulgarian Aircraft
Interesting film Jean even if it based on Dimitar Nedialkov's photo collection.
Since Nedialkov claim the Bulgarian Sommer pusher was a two-seater I suggest the correct designation thus has to be Sommer type R2 One interesting aircraft which appear in the film is a Farman HF.III look-a-like aircraft. The Bulgarian military forces never operated such a type and I suspect it may have been a film taken from the Russian Boris Maslenikov's visit in November 1910. Anyone who knows anything about that side of Bulgarian things?? Cheers Stig |
