Hiya all,

Sorry for all the questions!

On the 03 March 1941, a German aircraft was returning to its base at Lille, France. It was damaged by Blenheim's of 23 squadron, who were conducting 'Intruder' type missions.

Can anyone advise what unit this German aircraft was from and any further
information?

Danny: 23 Sqn appears to be very optimistic claiming a destroyed and a probable this night as well as losing one. Nothing leaps out apart from a He 111 of III./KG 53 force-landed at Lille-Vendeville 3 Mar 41 suffering 35% damage

Hello Chris,

Great, thanks for coming to the rescue! It would 'marry up' with a damaged that was claimed from the combat report. But as you said there was some interesting claims on this date!

Chris,

Do you have a estimated time that the He111 landed at Lille? That could be a good indicator if this was Hoare's claim?
