Re: Gao 544 ?

Are you sure for the GAO ? It does not appear on french order of battle for 1939-1940.

According to Aéro Journal n° 43, GAO 544 has lost Potez n° 200 on 19.05.1940 over the department Aisne, crew missing.
Otherwise, Potez n° 201 & 427 have been destroyed on ground on 10.05.1940

Re: Potez 63-11 Gao 544

The only combat loss of the GAO 544 was the Potez 63.11 n° 200, shot down on 19 May 1940 at Brancourt-le-Grand (Aisne), 5 km west of Bohain-en-Vermandois. The aircraft was found with many bullet hits. The crew fate was unknown (but GAO 544 has no known aircrew fatality during the campain). This aircraft had been damaged on the ground on 10 May and was supposed to be flown to the rear on the 11. This loss is still a mystery (at least for the authors of the book 'Ils étaient là', and for me).
