Loss, P47 August 4, 1944
Hello,
I seek the loss of one P47 at the date of August 4, 1944. MIA pilot? According to the report/ratio of the Major John C Carvey G3 Air Connection Officer of the 36th Fighter Group of the 83rd Inf Division "on August 4, Subject: 9 enemy boats, positioned in front of the town of Saint Suliac. Following the attack of our apparatuses, all ships touched and strongly damaged, in escape towards Saint Malo. A tenth ship, was saw and left in flames in front of the city of Minihic, (Basin of Rance) in the attack of this ship, an apparatus was lost (P47) loss in flames in this sector, not of parachute saw ". According to a friend in the MACR the loss of P47 42-22782 is given for Mans. The Pile Robert Morton, KIA? MIA? Knows one them missions of 36th FG for the day of August 4 44. Thank you Dan |
