Upper Wing cross position F-K
Evening all,
Has anyone ever seen an official RLM/Messerschmitt drawing providing a dimension for the upper wing cross on the F to K model? Doesn't make a difference if solid or simplified as the overall size was still the same I believe. Can't find anything in any of my Messerschmitt/Paint books. regards, Mark |
Re: Upper Wing cross position F-K
Erla generally had the simplified type later in the war...positions varied.
Have never seen drawings or dimensions of the simplified type PM me if you want more specifics from the drawing. |

Mike this should be a bit clearer. Crosses at bottom (L-R) top-lower-fuselage. Spinner specs. also noteworthy.

Re: Upper Wing cross position F-K
That's a great help.
The positioning dim and position to the leading slat indicates the upper wing cross is about 75mm outside of the skin joint line which was always deemed to be cross position on models/modellers etc. regards, MS |

Ja...
But as mentioned, this was not strictly adhered to. I have had around 10 wing panels with the cross...and each were in a slightly different location. Some 10-30cm more inboard...or higher/lower. Same with the upper crosses. |

Hi Mike. Have you by any chance seen this ?

Hi Mike. It's in an old "ww2aircraft.net" thread in 2007 also Merrick's " German aircraft markings".
I thought this photo was interesting for the painting method--straight-edge and brush. Nick https://www.ilawjournals.com/balkenk...ross-nicholas/ |
