39023 James Robert Maitland Boothby. 2 shared destroyed and 3 unconfirmed destroyed. Born 30 Mar 17, joined RAF June 1936, posted to 87 Sqn in 1937, to 85 Sqn 1939, OC A Flt Jan 40. Involved in a car crash 18 May 40, DFC 31 May 40 after which he was involved in test flying. Quite a remarkable man but what happened to him after the war is not known

No not at all, I'm reading it for the second time and to be honest I can take an example of it for writing my own book.

And yes, quite some info which is more than interesting.

Keep up the good work.

Frank

I came across this old post while looking into Sq/Ldr Boothby.

I have a record of a Squadron Leader Boothby at Bognor or Tangmere in Sept/Oct 1941. Any chance this might be the same chap?
