Are you sure this is the WNr for the complete Bf 110? For me it seems to be only for a part. This part may fit for a E-2 as well as for a F-2 Regards RolandF |

Yes, the plate does say E-2. That doesn't change the history for the Bf 110 WNr. 2701., assuming, as Roland suggests, the plate refers to an actual aircraft and not a part or assembly.

Of course the history of WNr 2071 is correct, Jim. What I wanted to express is GWF's use of this particular E-2 part well into the F-series. GWF's E-series ended with WNr 2654. I think those E-2 parts were used until the batch was exhausted and new El.Vorratsgeber were delivered.

I just received more clear information from plate owner and correct last two digits are: 270L (not 2701). (Updated full view of plate) Probably tomorrow I will get better quality photo with last two digits. (Sorry but on base picture from plate owner I also was sure that is last number 2701) |

The data plate is from the back of the very common Fuel Gauge.
In this case 270 Litres (the fuel tank was 270 litres) You cannot ID the aircraft from this part, I am afraid. |
