Uffz Rudolf Walter born 20 Sep 1924 crashed in his Fw-190A on 24 Dec 1944. Where did he crash and what was his unit?

He belonged to 15./JG 54. Where did you get the information that he crashed on 24.12.1944?

As one of the administrators of the crashplace.de site, I will add that the original source of the above entry is the JG 54 loss list, by Günther Rosipal (available at http://www.jg54greenhearts.com/LossList.htm).

The whole list had been included into the crashplace.de Database but is barely readable and had no source listed. I'm correcting the entries but it is a slow process...

Well, if it comes from Günther's list then it is more than likely Herr Walter gave him is recollections on what happened on 24.12.1944. I have corresponded with Rudolf Walter for a couple of years, mainly on the Bodenplatte mission but also on his missions in September 1944 around Arnheim. I am not sure if he is still with us.
