Lt. Wilson, USAAF, UK 1941 mission
Gents
In the Spring of 1941 a Special Observer Group under command of Major General James E. Chaney was formed. The objective was to gather overt intelligence over the development of aircraft and tactical development in Europe by selected Army Air Corps officers. One of the members of the group was a certain Lt Wilson, a fighter pilot. Does anyone know his first name and middle initial? Any information about the other members as well as any report submitted after the return to the US? TIA Franek |

I do not think so, or at least I am not aware.
Edit. It looks it was Lt., then Col. Jack Allen Wilson. |

Re: Lt. Wilson, USAAF, UK 1941 mission
Many thanks, Col. I have found a Col. Jack Wilson, USAF, who passed away after a long illness on 14 March 1997 in Fort Lauderdale, but obviously must have been another person.
Ah, the old thread on RAF Commands. |
