Re: Ju 88 W.Nr.? (SHOULD HAVE BEEN He 111)

Ed,

Many thanks!

However, through a mix-up on my part, the airplane type should have been He 111, not Ju 88; I need some rest!

Starting over, does W.Nr. 5719 relate to a He 111?

Regards,
Steve

Re: Ju 88 W.Nr.?

Hi Stephen

I do not have a particular a/c with the W/Nr 5719, so cannot give you any history.

But there was a He 111 with that W/.nr. It was built in a batch of 130 a/c by Heinkel.

He 111 H-3: 5601 to 5730:

Perhaps someone else can give you a more detailed responce.

Regards

Tom Willis

Re: Ju 88 W.Nr.?

Hi
For me the the 111 H-2 from 5./KG 53 code A1+LN was the 5718 (not 19), the pilot was Ltn Helmut Bänsch, POW after shot down am 15.9.40 toward Trafford Farm by enemy fighters during weather-recce sortie. 2 others POW, 2 KIA. sources : BoB, T&N, p.646; Mason, p.39
Best regards, Dan
