Focke Wulf Ta-154 TQ-XC
 

I did not know a second TA-154 was captured intact after the war.
Does anyone know what variant this 154 is. In Phil Bulter's Captured Axis Plane book it mentions a TA-154 being reported in paperwork as being shipped to the USA. Could it have been this one?

V23 TQ+XC0 01314. Juli 1944NJG 3Die V23 war ein unbewaffneter Erprobungsträger mit einem Jumo-213-A-Triebwerk. Neben dem Erstflug am 14. Juli 1944 sind drei Flüge bekannt (5., 12. und 17. August 1944). Danach wurde die Maschine nach Detmold überführt und für die Nachtjagd beim NJG 3 umgerüstet.[44]

"One slightly damaged Ta 154 is known to have been captured at Lage, Germany, by the 54th Air Disarmament Squadron and is reported to have been shipped to the USA on board the SS Richard Gatling. No FE number was assigned, its fate is unknown."

This is V23 was an unarmed test vehicle with a Jumo-213-A engine. In addition to the first flight on July 14, 1944, three flights are known (August 5, 12 and 17, 1944). The machine was then transferred to Detmold and converted for night hunting at NJG 3. [44]
Does this show the extended fuselage plug that was required to accommodate the Jumo 213 engine?

The British acquired three examples.

"Because of British interest in the structural techniques employed in the Ta 154 design, it had appeared in the Category One Requirements List, and three dismantled aircraft were selected to be shipped to the RAE. These aircraft were found at the Luftpark (Storage Depot) at Padeborn, by No. 2002 ADW. At least one arrived at Farnborough, where it was the subject of an engineering investigation, resulting in the issue of Report EA 262/1. It is possible that one or more received an untraced 'Air Min' number."

joebaugher.com lists one example that apparently received no FE (Foreign Equipment) or T-2 number. It ended up at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio.

"Captured in damaged condition at Lage, Germany, by the 54th Air Disarmament Squadron."
