Raids on South Coast CH radar stations August 1940
 

Hi

Latest enquiry concerns the number of ground casualties - RAF/WAAF/Army/ Civilian - suffered during the attacks on the CH radar stations - Dover, Dunkirk, Pevensey, Poling, Rye and Ventnor - during August 1940.

I can't seem to find anything - numbers, identities - but assume there were many?

Hopefully our experts can inform me, please.

My list shows nothing for RAF, we have discussed the WAAF casualties before (none on any radar site as there were very few in the BofB despite what the movies might suggest), for civilians suggest you go to CWGC and input dates and no ideas about Army unless you do the same for civilians. Balloon units are another matter-quite a number of them..............

it's just that Richard Hough & Denis Richards imply that several RAF and WAAF were killed and injured at Pevensey CH on 12 August.

Balloon squadrons' casualties would be welcomed (send by e-mail if you wish). Thanks in advance.

Can only see Lympne and Hawkinge, not Pevensey and no females. As to listing all the balloon casualties, there are quite a number and publisher will not be happy about me giving away information before the book comes out..........
