Royal Air Force in Oman in WW2
What units; Squadrons, Flights or Detachments of the RAF operated out of Oman in WW2?
I can see details of 244 Sqn flying Wellington Mk XIII on anti-sub operations from RAF Masirah and 209, 265, 321 and 413 Squadrons with Catalinas flying from Masirah Island - however I cannot find any evidence of other offensive RAF units. Also it seems there was no RAF Fighter Aircraft in Oman? Perhaps the risk of air attack was very low? |
