south Atlantic loss
Hello,
Am seeking the ship that was lost in the South Atlantic around the 8 or 9 the of November 1942. Most likely some kind of troop carrier on the way to Africa ? Thanks Alex |
Re: south Atlantic loss
Alex,
Looking at: https://www.battleships-cruisers.co....avy_losses.htm leads to: https://uboat.net/allies/merchants/ship/2402.html Does SS Cerinthus fit the bill? Andy |
Re: south Atlantic loss
Lots of cargo ships lost those two days but I can see no troop ships unless off Casablanca. Cerinthus was a tanker and lost 10 November 1942

Re: south Atlantic loss
A long list here, we may need more information to zero in on any one ship:

Re: south Atlantic loss
All that I have is that three possibly four USAirmen were lost in the Atlantic between the 8th and 9th of November, 1942. I thought that they may have been on a transport ship or such.
Maybe they were in an aircraft that went down although I cannot find any that fit . Thanks for the help and links Alex |
