Blohm & Voss modification facility at Wenzendorf
6 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
As a spin-off to the Me262B-1a/U1 -nightfighter thread here's a small summary of photos and sources related to the B&V Wenzendorf modification facility. A brief history of the site as google-translated from German: https://translate.google.com/transla...enzendorf.html According to RLM Acceptance records the site converted at least the following dual-controls trainers: - Bf109G-12 = 403 pcs - Ju88A-7 = 149 pcs - Me210A-1/U1 = 48 pcs - Me262B-1a = 9 pcs (between 07/44 and 11/44) + max 8 pcs (12/44 B&V+DLH total) Sources for some postwar video-footage. The Wenzendorf modification site starts at 1:03 on both sources: https://www.britishpathe.com/video/g...ery/wenzendorf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEF8J8ppP1k - destroyed hangars - destroyed Bf109G-12 two-seat dual-controls trainers - destroyed Me262B-1a two-seat dual-controls trainers Sources for some postwar photos. Unfortunately the quality of this copy is really bad. The interesting source document is C.I.O.S. report XXV-53: "German Aircraft Industry - Bremen-Hamburg Area" (pages 54-62): https://apps.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/b198053.pdf - Me262 nose cones - Me262 two-seater fuselages - Me262 wings - Me262 engines Below also some photos from my collections. Hi all,
No question, nor requests. Just provision of additional information related to an earlier Me262B-1a/U1 -thread. BR, Juha |

"German Aircraft Industry - Bremen-Hamburg Area"
I read this entire document, looking for ME 262 information, but found only information I already knew. But the entire document was quite interesting! |
