Looking for Oskar Elster, POW

Hi Gents,
Miss Katharina Fritz is looking for her Grand Mother's Uncle, Oskar Elster.

Said to have been Luftwaffe member, made POW in Northern Africa (When and Where ?) and prisonner at Crossville Camp in Tennessee.
Born on 27th Apr 1910.
Died only 1995 in Greifswald / Mecklenburg Vorpommern

I'm pretty sure I recently read on this website or over on AHF that all of the files, forms, cards and related personal data on German POWs sent to the United States were transferred to the International Red Cross Search Service in Bad Arolsen, Germany, after the war.
