Franz Achleitner JG3

Franz Achleitner of JG3 was shot down on 24th August 1940.
Did he definately land in the sea when he bailed out as i have read reports saying he landed both on land and in the channel?

Also does a photo of him exist on the web ?

Lt ACHLEITNER shot down 24 August 1940

He went into the Channel 2 miles off Reculver & was rescued by a shore-boat which brought him to land at Herne Bay. See Blitz Then & Now p233.
