Looking for answers to the following questions about Werner Quast:

1. When did he become the pilot of the 4./JG52 - in 1941 (as in "Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries") or in 1942 (1st victory on 23.Aug.42)?

2. What did he do between 29.Aug.(3rd victory) and 7.Oct.42 (4th victory)?

3. What did he do between 7.Oct.42 and 7.Feb.43 (evidence of Barkhorn's victory)?

The last break (4 months) seems especially strange, considering his almost uninterrupted successes in the following months.
What was it - an illness, an unknown wound, prolonged bad luck?
