Two B-17s on March 15 1945

Hello,

I am looking for exact crash-places of two B-17s, 42-97683 (352nd BS, 301st BG) and 44-6555 (772nd BS, 463rd BG). I am interesting as well if somebody know which target those planes bombed on March 15 1945, Ruhland nearby Dresden or Kolín in Central Bohemia?

Thanks for help

Michal

Yes, they were dispatched to bomb Ruhland, but in fact one part (109 B-17s of 99th, 301st, 463rd and 483rd BGs) bombed Ruhland and second part (103 B-17s of 2nd, 97th, 99th, 301st, 463rd and 483rd BGs) bombed Kolín.

It does mean planes of 301st and 463rd BGs attacked both targets and I would like to determine which target attacked directly those two crashed planes.

Could somebody help me?

Michal,

I have some details regarding these day's losses, but must digging a lot for them. IIRC one B-17 emergency landed behind the Soviet lines on that day (maybe one of the asked Fortresses).

See you soon,

Csaba
