Nachtaufklärungsstaffel Awards

I now have a comprehensive list of DKiG winners but can only find 3 RK winners namely:

FhjOfw Klaus Schmidtberg 1 Staffe Oct 44
Hptm Erich Wiese 1 Staffel Mar 44

Oblt Paul Felder 4 Staffel Feb 44

Can anyone add to this list?

Chris,

This is a fantastic topic and from what you found, not much was written about. Hope you will go deep into it and, maybe, like you already done, give your readers another amazing work. Wish all the good fortunes onto the job.

Keep safe and hope to see the UK and you again, in the futur.

A.

Thanks Chris!

Just adding to your thread, I've also made contact with Harald from the Luftwaffe Reconnaissance Association and I gather he has a new book in the works in the same subject area relating to Luftwaffe Recon (not sure if I can share the title or not). I've pointed him towards the other thread and hopefully we'll see him there too :)

Adriano: Not enough for a book but enough for the Do 217
Si: Thanks. I know of Harald's interest

Brian has pointed out Oblt Horst Krüger and Hptm Franz Kusatz but both of these were awarded when they were on Do 17s

Siko,

This is good news that a NEW book on Luftwaffe Reconaissance (units, men or planes) will arise soon...by Harald. His first is on the "wish list for Xmas" for a long time...

Chris: Understood. Good stuff for the new 217 book. I meant, initially, that this is a field no-one ventured so far....so maybe after contact with relatives, more material can arise, etc...although it is a long process....Nevertheless, a fantastic topic and "open field".

Re: Nachtaufklärungsstaffel Awards

I think the days of authors contacting WW2 relatives not just those who took part are waning fast. Many relatives are not interested, do not have anything or no longer around. I was contacted yesterday by a BofB officer who had no idea he was on 54 Sqn!
