Oblt. KRUS / JG3
Dears,
Does anyone know the date of birth and the name of the pilot: 2. Staffel / JG3 Oblt. KRUS ..... ??? * xx.xx.xxxx ??? + 03.03.1945 Pinnow = Absturz Start, gefallen BR Kris |
Re: Oblt. KRUS / JG3
Dear Kris,
De Zeng and Stankey do not give his date of birth: KRUS, ? . 03.45 Oblt., in 2./JG 3 (03.03.45 †). 03.03.45 Oblt., 2./JG 3 KIA - Bf 109 G crashed ontake-off at Pinnow I have looked for Oblt. Krus here: https://www.volksbund.de/erinnern-ge...ersuche-online. The search returned no Krus killed on March 3rd, 1945, and when I tried again, with only the family name, I got 18 different soldiers named Krus, but they died at different times and none of them died at Pinnow. When I typed Kruse, again, those killed on March 3rd, 1945 were not Luftwaffe pilots. I'm sorry I haven't been able to help you. Good luck with your search! Best regards, Teresa |
Re: Oblt. KRUS / JG3
Maybe this one ?
Archivaliensignatur: Bundesarchiv, BArch RL 5/739 "...vermißten Offizieren, überwiegend der Fliegertruppe" Krus, Günther Amtsbezeichnung/Dienstgrad: Leutnant (Kr.O.) Geburtsdatum: 8.11.1919 Source: https://www.archivportal-d.de/item/C...&hitNumber=109 |
Re: Oblt. KRUS / JG3
Maybe, but I wouldn't be sure. 'Vermißt' (now spelled 'vermisst' after the spelling reform of 1998) means 'missing (in action)' and you said earlier that Oblt. Krus had been killed right after the takeoff (Absturz Start means takeoff crash), so it seems that he did not go missing.

Re: Oblt. KRUS / JG3
But thank you for the link. It mentions my beloved Friedrich Rupp, who also went missing after being shot down over the North Sea near Heligoland:
Rupp, Friedrich Amtsbezeichnung/Dienstgrad: Leutnant (Kr.O.) Geburtsdatum: 26.11.1917:inlove: |
