Italian official histories translated into English

From the Stone & Stone site:

Often overlooked, Italy has over the years published an extensive series of official history volumes about Italian operations in World War II. Some of these have now been translated into English as digital editions by Robert Denny. Translated volumes include:
All these translated volumes are available to peruse online and to freely download in a variety of formats.

Thanks Ed,

Something related that I just found online is the Diario Storico del Comando Supremo (Historic Diary of the Supreme Command) at:

https://issuu.com/rivista.militare1/...i-diario-testo

I've only looked at parts of one volume but it gives a useful rundown of each day's events in the various theatres of operations where Italian land, sea and air forces were deployed.

Re: Italian official histories translated into English

The official translation of Vol. III of the Italian Army OH (El Alamein books I and II) is on Issuu.com - the ones highlighted by Ed are helpful for quick reference but feel like machine translations?

Still really good for me as I speak Italian, so can guess in case of really off translations, and also because I needed the info on Cape Spada!

Thank you!

All the best

Andreas

It is a fantastic resource. Also searchable.

This source is very useful for giving a detailled view of the war from an Italian point of view. One of the issues it has is that for a given day, it will show data received that day, in numerous cases without precising the event date. So if you want to know what happens in a given day, you should probably check this day and the 2-3 next days, and search for the not dated events.

Some more official Italian WWII books on issu:
LE OPERAZIONI IN AFRICA SETTENTRIONALE VOL I SIDI EL BARRANI - PARTE PRIMA
https://issuu.com/rivista.militare1/...-singolo-testo
LE OPERAZIONI IN AFRICA ORIENTALE LA MARINA ITALIANA VOL X
https://issuu.com/rivista.militare1/...rientale-testo
LE OPERAZIONI IN AFRICA ORIENTALE VOL I NARRAZIONE - PARTE PRIMA
https://issuu.com/rivista.militare1/...i-parte1-testo

Also if you're interested in the Italian navy (even just as a target for RAF and other Allied air units ;) ), I strongly recommend the website:
http://conlapelleappesaaunchiodo.blo...12/indice.html
It is a list of ship histories with many details
