Herbert Swoboda (DKiG)
Gentlemen,
What was Herbert Swoboda's total air to air combat victories? Did he survive WWII? He was a German Cross in Gold holder. Edward L. Hsiao |
Re: Herbert Swoboda (DKiG)
Hi Edward
It's hard to give a figure for this pilot, but eight confirmed in the west including six "viermots", but in 1945 he flew against the Russian's and is believed to have claimed four there, but these if true would just have been listed as expected to be confirmed. The DKiG system was also breaking down, by mid 1944 whole groups of guys DKiG notifications were clumped together, but I have not seem any evidence he was ever awarded one, some guys seemed to wear one, but still not on these clumped lists. But he really deserved, or even earnt one. Kind Regards Johannes |
