Airman named DRESSLER - KIA 1941
1 Attachment(s)
Good morning to all members.
I am looking for details of an airman. His name, as recorded on the back of a photograph “seems to be” DRESSLER. He was apparently, as informed on the photo, KIA on 1941. I found 4 entries (at Kracker) for airmen named Dressler, but none killed in 1941. They are: 1 – Uffz. Fritz Dressler (6/JG 54) – MIA 15 July 1943 2- Fw. Gerhard Dressler from (F)/Nacht – apparently survived WW2 with DKiG. 3- Obgfr. Hans Dressler (9/JG 77) – MIA 28 June 1943 4 – Gefr. Erich Dressler (3/ZG 1) – MIA 7 June 1944 on the Ju 88 G-1 of Uffz Strobel. NONE of those above, “seems to be” the airmen am looking for. There is another possibility about what was written back on the photo: The year of the picture is 1941 and indeed the airman was later KIA (+)…so he could be one of those above. Does anyone do have an entry for a DRESSLER eventually lost in 1941 ? A. |

Re: Airman named DRESSLER - KIA 1941
The "Karte", let it, as follow reading,
15h20 letzte Funkmeldung, Plan Quadrat 0039 etwa 20 km von Luga , Jatschera ? R.F.R. ? Why they are speaking of the "Flughöhe" ?? Not all is clear there First time I see the Wn of the plane in the SK Rémi |
Re: Airman named DRESSLER - KIA 1941
Rémi your eyes are better than mine....I now did a Control + and yes, you are right about the Pl.Qu 0039 and Letzte instead of Entzete as reported previously.
However the 200 meters is a mistery indeed. Did they collided with an antenna somewhere 20 km von Luga? I can not see where the werknummer 5117 reported by Matti fit on the SK. Where you found it? Maybe there is a second SK more detailed from the one I saw/read. MERCI (Thanks a lot) for helping with the deciphering of the mysteries of this crash. Baumgartner |
Re: Airman named DRESSLER - KIA 1941
Wn is in the SK Braito's, an other member of the crew, the two others are missing so no SK
