WW1 German pilot Ernst Schreiber
Good morning all,I recently took possession of a family group; all WW2 documents to the Schreiber family. Father Ernst Schreiber portrait wearing the WW1 pilots badge, would not know where to start about researching a WW1 pilot.
Other documents to his son Hermann Schreiber Pilot Kg 4 , POW Russia, and continued serving in the German airforce after his release finishing his career in the late 1960s as an Oberst. Any help or information on the fathers WW1 career would be great. Thank you |

Hi Ben,
Sounds interesting, can you post a photo of this guy? I'm sure our colleagues over at the 'drome might be able to assist. |

Hi, I have attached a photograph, he has some incredible scars on the left side of his face, don’t know if they are duelling or as a result of his war service.

Re: WW1 German pilot Ernst Schreiber
Hallo, thank you for your message regarding the career of Ernst Schreiber, according to Luftwaffe officer career summaries and his document he served WW2 as a Flak officer. His WW1 service seemed to be initially as an infantry officer and then serving with the German Air Force in WW1.
