Book Dealers in U.S.A.

Anyone have knowledge of a good (i.e. reliable) book dealer(s) located in the United States ? One that imports books from other countries - it would be nice to be able to purchase with a check and not have to use the plastic !

I've bought a lot of books from Roll Models http://www.rollmodels.com/ , which is an online model shop in Minnesota. In addition to imported kits, they sell imported books by Aero Detail, After the Battle, Albatros, Classic Aviation, Crowood, Guideline, and other publishers from overseas. They take checks too (and, no, I don't work for them !).

Pyker, I highly recommend www.aberdeenbookstore.com (Tom Petteys). He carries large stock, accepts checks and is 100% reliable. This based on several years of book purchases from him with well over $5000 in value.

fsbofk and Jukka

MANY Thanks for the suggestions !

I will pursue both Roll Models and Aberdeen Bookstore for my wants.
Again, Thanks.

It is certainly nice to be in a group that are so knowledgeable and helpful.

http://www.amazon.com

Whether you purchase light paperbacks like JG26 or large format hardbacks such as Agte's Peiper book, the shipping price is always 9.98. Adding on the sellers have to ship airmail now, because surface mail has been abolished by the US Postal Service on May 14th.

Would be interested in how do they do that since e.g. the cheapest airmail rate for Agte´s book is now some $37 to Europe.

The bill for me was some $103.98, cost and shipping covered. It costs $37 to ship to Europe if you are buying from bookstores, etc as they do not operate by the shipping price rules of companies like Amazon.

Well, perhaps part of the shipping cost is hidden in the price of the product...

Not sure about that, as JJF's price is 99.9. While it is true for some sellers who sell the book for over $200.

p.s. is the $37 for sea mail or air mail? I originally tried to order it off JJF, but I turned to Amazon as soon as they replied that sea mail cost $45 Canadian Dollars!

$37 is for USPS´s (not Canadian Post!) new product, International Priority Flat Rate Box.
