Sgt John Norman Blackie 198 Sqn, 20 June 1943
 

Hi,

I'm researching 1551014 Sgt John Blackie RAFVR who was killed in an aircraft accident on 20 June 1943 while serving with 198 Squadron out of Martlesham Heath, Suffolk.

I would like to put together a display panel for a local museum to remember Sgt Blackie but to date have had no luck in tracking down any photos of him.

I know that he was born in 1923 and was the son of James King Blackie and Jane Hunter Kay Blackie, of Bearsden. At the time of his death he was living at 58 Douglas Park Crescent, Bearsden, Glasgow and he is buried in New Kilpartick/Hillfoot Cemetery.

I wonder if any of the members of this group might have access to a photograph of Sgt Blackie and if so whether they would be willing to share it?
