Re: airfield - 13 Squadron May 1940 location
When 13 Squadron departed France with the few servicable Lysander aircraft they had left, they landed at a small satellite airfield on the south coast. I cannot remember the name of it.
This was before they went upto RAF Hooton Park. Thanks Danny |

Re: airfield - 13 Squadron May 1940 location
13 Sqn did have a presence at RAF Christchurch, with some personnel and aircraft assisting as radar targets for the Air Defence Experimental Establishment (Army Gun Laying Radars). However it may have been a small section (less than a Flight)

Re: airfield - 13 Squadron May 1940 location
Thanks Larry,
They did get dispersed on their return from France. Trying to write the next book on a squadron with no records wow, it's difficult! |
Re: airfield - 13 Squadron May 1940 location
Danny,
Sorry I have no further details except somewhere deep in my records is an account by a 13 Sqn radio operator on the ground. I will try to find it for you. |
Re: airfield - 13 Squadron May 1940 location
Wow, that would be great Larry.
Cheers Danny |
