Read SAS for Section d'Avions Sanitaires

They were the n°1, 2, 3, 4, 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 and 10/110 and also 21, 22, 23 and 24/110.

You have the story of SAS 22/110 in Avions n°78 (LELA presse) ; they have different a/c and one F.192.

The F.390 or F.404 on the links could have belonged to another SAS that it is unknown... today

Thanks for the response.Does the Avions 78 give a serial for the SAS 22/110 F.192?


Also regarding the designation of the SAS units what is the significance of the 110 after the /?

Hi Clint,

The Farman F.192 is the F-ALAQ.

x /110 corresponds to ther Bataillon de l'Air n° 110 on which these SAS (Etampes) initially depended. However later they were sent to different bases and were attached to them.

For example SAS 4/110 is in Etampes on 02/09/1939 and on 20/09/1939 leaves for Dijon.
