John R. Baldwin promotion dates
 

Does anyone know when Baldwin was made Acting Flight Lieutenant? I suspect it may have been in March 1943 because his war substantive Flight Lieutenant promotion is in March 1944.

I also wish to know when he was made Acting Squadron Leader (November 1943?). He took command of 198 Squadron at that time.

He was still a Fg Off on 3 Mar 43. Suggest a look at the F540/541 will help unless anyone has his record of service. I have the information here but it is packed away

Gazette only mentions substantive ranks as far as I am aware, not acting
