Did Squadron Leader John Forbes Andre DAY (02113) serve with 13 Squadron

I am trying work out if the following pilot served with 13 Sqn during 1940. He was KIA on 30 Oct 42 Aircraft: Hudson III V8983 Unit 24 Sqdn Airfield /Crash Location , UK Squadron Leader John Forbes Andre DAY (02113) of the Royal Air Force Thanks Danny |

Danny,
I can't find him with 13 Sqn. He handed over the Adjt's job with 9 Sqn in Dec 35, when he was placed on the Retired List. He was a passenger on the 24 Sqn transport when it crashed near Wendover, having departed Belfast earlier that afternoon. Jonny |

He was not KIA but KIFA and being 52 at the time of his death makes him old to be a pilot in 1940, supported by him retiring in 1935

Possible confusion with: Saturday, May 18. BRITISH AIR FORCES IN FRANCE. 13 Squadron, AUTHIE. Lysander N1221. Wrecked in explosion when bomb became detached on landing at Amiens. Pilot Officer J. H. (John Harold) Day believed badly wounded, evacuated but died in hospital at Le Treport en route to England, May 20. Aircraft a write-off.
