Luftflotte destroyed records?
 

About 30 years ago, I remember reading in one of the excellent After The Battle Blitz Then And Now books that either Luftflotte 2 or 3's records did not survive the war as they were destroyed in an Allied air raid or were hurriedly burned at the end of the war to prevent war crimes trials.

The net result was that we only have half the records for Luftwaffe bomber activity over Britain.

Is this correct and which Luftflotte records were destroyed 2 or 3?

Much of Luftflotte 3's survived
